This large cross measures 3 inches by three inches. It is encrusted with four faceted purple stones which could be garnet or amethyst and 12 black beads that could be onyx. It is quite old and I put a bail on it and designed a special chain made up of several chain types and punctuated with “stations” that feature gold tone large beads, mystic crystal purple tone stones (3/4 inch x 1/2 inch) and two purple glass long beads as well as four iridescent purple glass round beads. It is a large necklace and weighs in at 2.5 oz. The chain length is 30 inches.

This is definitely a one and only. I was lucky enough to find the old cross encrusted with black beads and purple faceted stones. I added a bail and then designed a worthy chain by pulling together chains from other vintage necklaces I had in my collection. In between the chains I put “stations” to accent the giant cross and give more depth to the entire gestalt of this piece. I added two gold tone aged large beads (1/2 inch) and offset them with the mystic topaz look of iridescent purple 1/4 inch beads. The between the chain link and the snakelike final chain, I put in two gorgeous crystals that are shaped in a flattened hexagon with the path for the wire allowing them to be sideways for an unusual composition. Under that I placed two very rare and vintage purple glass beads that are 1/2 inch long. Finally, I put gold tone beads between and two black onyx beads above the crystal. The chain clasp is large and easy to fasten. For design of such a piece of substance, I used one of the largest clasps I had. This is by far one of the best designs I have made and I love it! This piece evokes the renaissance and would look amazing on purple velvet. The gold is warm and buttery. The combination of stones and beads play well with reflected light.
