This unique part of some very old jewelry reminds me of a curtain pull. Remember the tassels on the pull backs of very old tapestry drapes? Here it is in gold tone with three plastic beads that are opaque. They might have been finished with pearl topping but that is long gone now. The drops have some discoloration. It appears old or was not well cared for. But the wear makes it visually more interesting.
This is probably one of the most unusual parts of a piece of old jewelry I have come across. If I had two, I would have made huge earrings. But just having this one piece, I made it into a pendant. it is light and airy. The filigree makes it texturally interesting. It seems very vintage but the opaque plastic beads point to a more recent piece that suffered from some mishandling. Anyways, it hangs well, wears well and has movement. It’s big without being heavy and I can adjust the cord to whatever length you want. It will look good on beige linen or a t-shirt of any color. I would say it’s a casual fun piece!
