I’m in my Elsie Silver era.
Don’t get me wrong, I will read just about anything from Elle Kennedy, and despite having about as much grace on the ice as a fawn, I love me a good hockey romance. But a cowboy romance? I never thought I would be a fan until the Chestnut Springs series converted me.
I had a very specific scene in mind when I made this bracelet. It’s the scene after Rhett and his brothers TP their neighbor’s tractor, and Summer comes riding over the hill in this white lace dress and boots.
The combination of neutral-toned boots with the feminine, diaphanous fabric always stuck out to me, and I tried to bring that to life here.
The beige and tan fabrics used here are both from Universal Threads t-shirts, so you know they’re going to be soft. And the lace? From a curtain. That’s right. A $3.99 curtain panel that gives just the right touch of rustic but feminine.
The ends of the bracelet are hand-sewn together with embroidery thread (it’s amazing what you can find in the Bricky section of Salvation Army) and then fastened with silver jewelry cones and silver magnetic clasps. (These last two are not upcycled.)
