These began life as two black plastic buttons. They were decorated with a large vintage red coral bead and a tiny rhinestone hides the hole in the bead. Surrounding the bead and adding a little shine are vintage black bugle beads. Light and comfortable for people who enjoy wearing clip earrings. Each one only weighs .2 oz. Because of the plastic, you get a large impact but comfort in wearing them. They are 1.25 inches in diameter.
Enjoy these black clip earrings with an unusual round flat coral bead. You can tell that it is real coral since although I tried to match them, they are not exact duplicates. I put a tiny rhinestone in to hide the hole in the bead. I have used beads from this vintage necklace from the 1930s in my other bracelets but I wanted to try out making earrings with them as well. In order to fill the gap between the coral and the edge of the button, I added vintage bugle beads from my collection of seed pearls and bugle beads sourced from broken necklaces. They are glass. Because they are black, they blend into the earring but shine subtly when the light hits it just right. I love these beads and it’s a good thing I have lots of them because I use them often to make things sparkle – their sparkle is a whisper….not a shout!
