Thanks for stopping in! My name is Grace, and I started The Upcycle Bin as a way to revitalize old, worn clothing into something new and vibrant. Having worked in thrift stores and with third-party sellers, I saw first-hand how much merchandise was thrown away, either because of small defects like stains and tears, or simply because they hadn’t sold within a certain period of time. Every time I look at a piece of clothing, an accessory, or even a piece of furniture, I try to envision the potential beyond the item’s intended purpose.

I love the name ragged edges because it’s celebrates the artistry of imperfection. All of the creations are one of a kind, handcrafted, upcycled, deconstructed, reconstructed, redesigned, embellished denim jackets and accessories. Recently forayed and to creating jackets and kimonos from vintage quilts in coverlets. Each creation has its own personality, some are humorous, some are romantic, some are preppy, some are Western, some are boho. 

Second Stitch Clothing brings you upcycled clothing made from found knit fabrics. I have standard sized patterns for each type of clothing but the patchwork design and size and shape of each piece of fabric is custom to that clothing item. The only new materials that I use are thread and rib knit for the necklines and cuffs.

Charavel is a tribute to honoring what we already have. I source second-hand materials like tapestry blankets and quilts and combine them with thrifted sweatshirts, jeans or other items to create one-of-a kind pieces. Recurring Seams upcycles secondhand clothing and repurposed textiles into colorful and sustainable styles that you will love to wear!  All materials are thoroughly washed and sanitized before the transformation begins — no thrift store smell when you buy from us 🙂

I repurpose flannel and denim shirts or jackets. Each shirt has a patch sewn on the back with a message or graphic. The message or graphic is cut out from a repurposed t-shirt. Some shirts are bleach distressed for a more unique look.  My repurposed shirts are meant to bring joy to the person wearing/buying them through their connection to the message.

AMENDED is a series of upcycled garments that have been thoughtfully mended or altered by me, Jessamy Shay, to restore them back to wearability.  I find damaged garments, often vintage, and recreate them one at a time in my studio in Somerville MA, focusing on handcraft processes and using secondhand supplies and textiles whenever possible.

According to the EPA, 85% of discarded textiles end up in a landfill or burned. An estimated 17 million tons of textiles went to landfill in 2018. Repairing and reusing garments keeps them in use longer and diverts them from this devastating textile waste stream.

I upcycle everything.  As an Armenian, I naturally love to save everything and don’t like wasting anything!  This has been engrained in my head since day one, so I am very thankful for randomly finding this website when doing research on other upcyclers and what they are up to!

I prowl local estate sales, thrift shops, and garage sales for pre-loved clothing, leftover fabric and trim remnants, thread, salvaged buttons, and vintage linens. In my studio I work with cut-and-sew techniques, machine embroidery, visible mending, decorative stitching, and other unique embellishments to repurpose these found treasures into one-of-a-kind upcycled fashions. My raw materials come from broken vintage jewelry.  After 30 + years, strings break and necklaces end up in thrift shops in bags and in tag sales.  I have also collected costume jewelry for years myself and sometimes a piece speaks to me to be taken apart, recombined with other jewels, beads, and semi-precious stones.  I have lots of coral in all colors, stones, old pearls, delightful plastic Bakelite beads in all colors.  Once I retired, I got to play with the thousands of beads I collected over the past 50 years.  I get totally excited when someone appreciates and enjoys wearing my art works!  I started with bracelets but plan to branch out into earrings soon!  Tell me what colors you want to combine and I will design to your needs!  Big and bold or delicate and small!  Just let me know!

Since 2019, STITCH AND DESTROY has been producing eco-friendly punk rock clothing and accessories, while also catering to those interested in retro and alternative styles. We are one of the few punk clothing brands committed to sustainability and reducing textile waste.

At STITCH AND DESTROY, we believe the clothing you wear should reflect your values. Our clothing and accessories are made entirely out of recycled and upcycled materials, including rescued fabrics, pre-loved clothing, plastic bags and straws, and metal bottle caps. Even our zippers and buttons are repurposed!

All of our products are handmade in Philadelphia by Haven DeAnglis. We strongly believe in creating items that are made well to last.

Giglet’s Garments reclaims discarded textiles that cannot be sol as-is and turns them into a versatile sustainable yarn. We then partner with individuals and organizations in the community to teach people how to knit and crochet a variety of items from our curated line.

Hello! I’m Anna Elyse, I am from Houston TX, and an enthusiastic creator. I am a self-taught artist and have been working with all kinds of mediums from early childhood. I was taught to sew by my crafty mother, at the age of eleven and found a love of creating garments.

Each piece is completely original and handmade specifically for the wearer who acquires it. My mission is to make a way for the wearer of my garments to be most comfortable in clothing that fits them to their personal liking.

Hi, my name is Timothy Visos, welcome to Visos Designs.

I am an artist and engineer that upcycles thrifted fits into wearable art! My art and style could be categorized as vintage fashion, streetwear, and skate. Although, like many creative types, labels are lame and breaking down social constructs and gender norms are common in my art. I like to draw skulls, graffiti, fun characters, and groovy retro designs.

I currently use bleach to add my art to outfits but am always looking for new and creative ways to upcycle fashion. I’ve done commissions for local vintage stores,
