Not gonna lie, this one was kind of a pain to make.

Could I have made it easier on myself? Absolutely.

Did I choose to be extra and not only use two kinds of satin, but to finish the edges so they wouldn’t fray? Yes. Yes, I did.

I love the clean, polished look of this. These colors? *Chef’s kiss!* It may have been a pain to work with, but I’m so happy I lucked out with finding two different kinds of satin from the same thrift store. Note for anyone looking for cheap satin to experiment with: go to your local thrift store and check out Domestics for pillow cases and Women’s Apparel/Pajamas for robes.

Yep. That royal blue satin? From a set of pillow cases. It’s the kind of material that you have on your *nice* pillows. And the ice blue satin? From a robe, and let me tell you, when I’m reading a book and the FMC puts on a fancy dress made of silk/satin that “feels like a river” flowing down their body? This is the material I imagine. (Also realizing how weird that phrase actually is.) The white is a simple jersey knit that I used for all of the lanyards in the Sailor Moon collection, because I wanted a through-line, something they all had in common, just like their uniforms.
