A little story about where all these gems come from, well, many sources and lucky finds. I am a fine artist whose Mother created jewelry. My Mother is still living and is 93. When she stopped doing jewelry in her 60’s and 70″s you amassed a great number of supplies and even broken pieces. I ended up taking them and placing them in my studio space, hoping to keep her tradition alive. Many of the items she used were plastics, and some pearls and hard stones, she would even string sequins!
My jewelry that is in galleries is elevated from hers’, but it was a talent she taught me. Most of my gallery sets of necklace and earrings sell for three hundred. Here on Re,Statement I can use a mix of stones and beads. Many individuals give me broken and unwanted items, thrift stores and auctions can also provide me with wonderful finds. The enjoyment is creating new out of unwanted. These bracelets are on memory wire which is fabulous since they make such a statement of color and no need to play with a fastener, just wind around your write! The prices vary with how much semi precious stones I used, vs the high quality costume jewelry I am working with. My aim to to create an end result that demonstrates my love for choosing the correct palette. ENJOY
