W hat is a clothing swap? It is a fun, alternative solution to thrift shopping or secondhand fashion that allows you to clean out the clothes you no longer wear and in return bring home new additions to your closet – all for free.

Come any time between 4:30-7:30pm on Thursday, May 18th @ Pitch 25, but the earlier you come, the higher chance you’ll have at finding clothes. Enjoy a drink while swapping clothes at a great Houston bar!

How it works:

  1. Gather up to 10 high-quality, clean items that you want to trade(adult-sized clothing, accessories, jewelry) in a reusable bag
  2. Our volunteers will log your clothing to help us measure the environmental impact we create together ????
  3. D rop your clothes off in the proper designated sections, and then browse away! You can take home whichever pieces you feel like you’ll truly wear
  4. Check out with a volunteer once you’re ready to bag up your fashion goodies so we can record your impact
  5. Hang out and hype up other eco-conscious Houstonians who love cool clothes and sustainability as much as you do. You can meet cool people by helping them find new clothes to bring home!

W hat am I allowed to bring?

  • A ccepted items are: men’s / women’s / unisex clothing, hats, accessories, jewelry, or shoes
  • A ll items must be still wearable, so clothing that is still high-quality or lightly worn

W hat am I not allowed to bring?

  • K ids’ clothing
  • Underwear, socks, lingerie, swimwear
  • D irty clothes

W ho can go to this event, and what kind of clothing will be available?

  • The venue is open to all ages!
  • Adult men’s, women’s, and gender-neutral clothing will be available.

Do I have to bring clothes?

  • N o, but you should give what you can, as long as it’s cleaned and still good quality. You’ll feel great from whatever spring cleaning you can get done from your closet!

W hat quality of clothing will be accepted?

  • A ll items must be still wearable, so clothing that is still high-quality or lightly worn. Think clothing that you’d still wear, but it doesn’t fit, isn’t your style anymore, you forget about it, etc.
  • Y ou can bring valuable clothing that you’d like mended or repurposed by our partner organizations.

W hat do I do when I get there?

  • C heck in with a volunteer so we can keep track of the impact you create! They’ll guide you to sort and drop off your items in the correct sections of the clothing swap.

H ow many items can I take home?

  • W e don’t have a limit on the number of items you can take home. It’s really about which clothes catch your attention and you can see yourself wearing!

C an I try on clothes?

  • W e are planning out changing rooms and mirrors so you have a better idea of how products will fit.

What happens to clothes that don’t get taken?

  • O ur partner organizations (RE.STATEMENT, MendIt, Trendy Seconds, Rent the Vibe) will either save them for the next clothing swap, donate them to local charities, donate them to local designers and small businesses to upcycle them into one-of-a-kind statement pieces, or recycle them.

W hat does my donation go toward?

  • W e are so grateful for your donation! All donations go towards our current and future events, venues, and costs involved to make sure everyone has a fun, safe time.

W ho is hosting this event?

  • H ouston Sustainability is a hub for eco-conscious Houstonians who love to connect, have fun, and take care of the planet. It is currently being run by the following sustainable fashion startups:
