This dress is soooooo soft and comfy and flows nicely. Its a slip dress made from cleaned and tea stained sheets with a subtle stripe. The hem is asymmetrical and has a vintage lace bottom border sides . The straps are handwoven criss cross in the back for adjustable sizing. I made bloomers in the same fabric and lace and they are dreamy together.

This line of BODIE clothes and accessories is inspired by my love of abandoned mining towns. My favorite being BODIE in California.
I started with a blank slate, some sheets I thrifted. I washed them well and then tea stained them for an aged effect. There is some darker tea staining in places that adds to the aged effect. The border on the bottom sides was made by attaching vintage lace pieces and sewing them securely before adding the border. I braided long straps from scrap material in complementing colors and used these for the straps. There will be a touch of fray which is intentional in my design. The ties criss cross in the back and go through loops made of the same braids.
On its own this is a great summer dress for areas where it is very hot. ( I live in the desert) It can also be layered under shorter dresses or a jacket.
